How to Grind a Slotted Screwdriver Correctly

A flat screwdriver is an indispensable tool in home repair tools, but after prolonged use, the blade may become dull and cannot meet work needs. At this point, it needs to be sharpened. The correct grinding method can make the screwdriver fast, accurate, and have a longer service life. Next, we will introduce how to properly grind a slotted screwdriver.
1、 Preparation before sharpening the knife
When using the Sharpening stone, soak it for more than ten minutes to let it fully absorb water before use. At the same time, it should be confirmed that the Sharpening stone is clean and free of impurities.
2、 Grinding steps
1. First, hold the screwdriver tightly with the blade facing upwards.
2. Place the Sharpening stone on the blade at an angle of 30 degrees and fix it with fingers. The blade slowly and gently scratches the Sharpening stone.
3. The direction of blade movement should be opposite to the direction of sharpness, ensuring that each movement is reducing sharpness rather than increasing it.
4. Repeat the above steps until the blade becomes sharp.
3、 Precautions
When grinding the knife, pay attention to the direction of the stroke, which should be opposite to the sharp direction to ensure that the blade is sharper.
2. During the sharpening process, it is necessary to maintain a stable force and speed to avoid blade loss caused by excessive or insufficient sharpening.
3. After grinding, clean with a fine sandcloth to avoid residual grinding stone particles on the blade.
